Network Setup - Wireless and Wired
Wired networking can be the fastest and most secure. Wired gigabit speed is 1000 megabits per second (Mbps). If your router is more than 3 years old, it is probably using the wireless-N standard, which is 270 Mbps at best. Since 2014 some new routers support the wireless-AC standard, which can get closer to Gigabit speeds at short ranges. Which is best for you? Let us help you decide.

The default settings on a wireless router do NOT enable any encryption. Have you changed your router's wireless security settings?
